Kamara Thomas is a Red Galactic Dragon.
On the road she searches for mystical travelers, fairy goddesses and elf kings and trains her eye on the eternally moving sky for answers to the Cosmic Mystery. At home she luxuriates in the life of the hausfrau, simmering stews and potions, entertaining amethysts and angels, sweeping up little piles of pixie dust, playing honky tonk music, and listening to John Denver and the dulcit pedal-steel tones of her intergalactic romance man.
Her favorite authors are Willa Cather, Milan Kundera, Ken Carey and Philip K. Dick, and she just can’t get enough of The Foundation (Isaac Asimov) or Dune (Frank Herbert). She is currently reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke because magic is right up her alley.
She loves her musical campadres and homeys to distraction: Larune, Honky Tonk Happy Hour, Pyradical, Sci-Fox. When not making band music, she works on grand music for the theatre (i.e. Bulgaria, Tularosa). Lastly, she pretends to musical entrepreneurship but mostly just digs her community over at The Periodic Label.

I came with friends to see Portugal. The Man. They were great, but you rocked the venue so well, you stole the show.
Come back to Utah soon. I have been working on the live cd and “Soft Targets” since Saturday.
And the “Rock Your Faces Mix the Races” shirt is fantastic.

Come on out to Colorady… Rocky Mountain High!?!
I loved seeing you guys at Red Rocks, definitely my favorite surprise of the Monolith. I’ve bought both albums since. I really enjoy both of them, but they could do with a new sound engineer. I typically like to leave the levels flat, but if I do that on those recordings it sounds like I put my speakers in the closet (it wasn’t a closet recording studio, was it???). Full disclosure: I’m not a sound engineer, just a live-music fanatic.
You guys definitely killed it at Red Rocks!
Anyway, I just wandered over here because I was posting on another list (thread: “Is there anyone that hardly ever OR never comes to Colorado that we are missing out on?") and I wanted to post your name. I figured a web search would be easier than finding the liner notes. Imagine my surprise to find this little communication tool!
Aside from some sort of bizarre missed connection (I saw you wandering the crowd before your set, but decided against the “Wait a second, you’re Talent!” line), since I see you have an interest in the Dreamspell I thought I might share this with you.
If you enter my birthday into the dreamspell calculator, it comes up as White Cosmic Wizard. However, we were talking about when the day changes, dusk, dawn, or other… This was more than just a thought problem for me, since I was born at 12:07 am on April 17th.
The best answer that I got was some sort of technical astronomy jargon, but basically when the sun is on the opposite side of the earth. Well, I still don’t exactly understand the machinations of Daylight Savings time, but from a naval website I was able to find the times for the sunset and sunrise bookending my birth. Doing the math, I found out that I was actually still on the April 16th side of things (closer to sunset than sunrise). Since I was initially upset about not being a Cosmic Wizard (does it get any cooler than that?), someone explained to me that it is more of a continuous thing and if anything I should describe myself as a ‘cusp’. Technically, though, I’m a Crystal Skywalker (it’s also powerful, I’ve since come to find). Pretty cool, eh, Galactic Dragon?
See you at the ... ?
